Thioflex 600 Pouring Grade Sealant is fuel Resistant, multi-component, pouring grade, polysulphide joint sealant for horizontal movement joints.

Uses:

Description:

A multi-component Joint sealant, based on a liquid polysulphide polymer, which when mixed and applied, cures to form a tough, rubber-like seal. The cured sealant exhibits excellent adhesion to most primed surfaces including concrete, aluminum and stainless steel. Thioflex 600 Pouring Grade for joints in horizontal surfaces is supplied in grey colour only in 4 and 16 liter packs with the base and curing agent in separate tins. Thioflex 600 Pouring Grade Is recommended for sealing expansion joints and stress relief joints in floors or other horizontal surfaces.


Maintenance:

No special requirements, any damage identified during normal building inspections should be repaired or replaced as appropriate.


Specification Clauses:

Joints shall be sealed using Thioflex 600 Pouring Grade, two-part, sealant, manufactured by Parchem. Joints shall be prepared and the sealant mixed and applied in accordance with the manufacturer's current Technical Data Sheet.


Application Instructions:

The joint surfaces must be thoroughly dry, clean and frost free. Remove all dust and laitance by rigorous wire brushing, grinding or grit blasting. Remove all rust, scale and protective lacquers from metal surfaces. Remove any oil or grease with Solvent 10.

Any expansion joint filler must be checked to ensure it is tightly packed and no gaps or voids exist at the base of the

sealing slot before positioning a bond breaker tape.

Note: the use of a bond breaker tape is not required in expansion joints containing polyethylene foam joint fillers. For construction or contraction joints polyethylene bond breaker tape or back-up strip must be used.

Where a particularly neat finish is required, mask the face edges of the joint before priming and remove immediately after tooling is completed.


Mixing:

Thioflex 600 Pouring Grade is supplied as a Base component (in a larger tin) and Curing Agent component

which is either 1 x 300ml cartridge for the 4-litre unit, or 4 x 300ml cartridges for the 16 liter unit. Transfer ALL of the

Curing Agent component/s into the larger tin. Mix thoroughly using a slow speed drill (300-500 rpm) fitted with a Paddle

Stirrer for 5 minutes. Only thorough mixing, including material right at the bottom of the tin, will result in proper curing. In

Cold weather Thioflex 600 mixes more easily if stored overnight at room temperature. The pouring grade may be

Poured directly into horizontal joints. For application to horizontal joints less than 15 mm wide load into a suitable gun.

Description:

Thioflex 600 Gun Grade is a two-component joint sealant, based on a liquid polysulphide polymer which, when mixed and applied cures to form a tough rubber-like seal. The cured sealant exhibits excellent adhesion to most primed surfaces including concrete, glass, aluminum and stainless steel.

Thioflex 600 Gun Grade is ideal for general applications and is packed in a ready-to-mix pack consisting of the base and curing agent in the correct proportions.

Thioflex 600 Gun Grade is particularly recommended for use in civil structures, high rise buildings and other applications where access for subsequent maintenance will be difficult and the risk of early movement failure must be minimized. It Is also suitable for sealing joints in brickwork, retaining walls, reservoirs, basements and subways.

Description:
  • Fosroc Colpor 200 cold applied, two-part polyurethane sealant is designed for joints in concrete paved areas.
  • The capability of accommodating cyclic movements is retained by Colpor 200 throughout extremes of temperature conditions. Colpor 200 is resistant to fuel, oil and hydraulic fluid spillage, will not harden in cold weather nor become excessively soft or pick up in hot conditions. Colpor 200 has high durability and long service life which significantly reduces maintenance costs.
  • Specification Where so designated on the drawing, joints are to be sealed using Fosroc Colpor 200, pavement sealant manufactured by Fosroc to BS 5212: 1990 and U.S. Federal Specification SS-S 200E:1984. Joints shall be prepared and the sealant mixed and applied in accordance with the manufacturer's current data sheet.

Priming:
  • Prime sealing slot surfaces with Primer No. 20 using a clean dry brush. Colpor 200 must be applied between 30 minutes and 2 hours after priming, depending on climatic conditions. Colpor 200 must be applied when the primer has become touch dry, that is after the evaporation of the solvent, but before the primer film has completely reacted. lithe primer film has become completely tack-free, the surfaces must be reprimed before applying the sealant. lithe primed areas are left unsealed overnight the primer film must be removed by grit blasting or grinding and the joint interfaces. Therefore, avoid priming more work than can be sealed within the time-scales above.
  • Avoid over application of Primer No. 20, as this may cause puddles of primer to lie at the base of the sealing slot.

Mixing:
  • Drain totally the contents of the On containing the curing agent into the large base component fin. Using a hand held, slow speed drill (400 to 500 rpm) fitted with a Fosroc paddle blade stirrer, mix for approximately one minute, stop the mixer and scrape around the top of the fin to remove any remaining curing agent. Continue mixing for a further 3 minutes until the material is thoroughly mixed.

Application:
  • When mixed, the sealant may be loaded into a Sealant Gun after removing the nozzle and cap and pulling back the plunger rod. The nozzle cap is then replaced ready for application. In wider joints of 25 nun and above, the mixed sealant may be poured directly from the fin by bending the side to form a pouring lip. Apply mixed sealant into the sealing slot no that the finished level of the seal ft recessed below the trafficked surface as specified. BS 5212,1990 Pt 2 sets out a code of practice for the application and use of joint sealants for concrete pavements.

Cleaning:
  • Clean equipment immediately after use with Nitoflor Sol. Remove mixed Colpor 200 from the hands with industrial hand cleanser.

Directions For Use:
